Kemp Technologies (News - Alert), a Yaphank, N.Y.-based provider of network load balancer appliances and software solutions, announced it has received a venture capital to support its growth and global expansions.
ORIX Venture Finance, a leading growth capital provider, has announced the equity investment in Kemp Technologies. Following this development, ORIX Venture Finance Co-Head William Bishop has been appointed as Kemp Technologies' board of directors.
Commenting on this development, Bishop said, "Kemp's seasoned management team, excellent growth profile and strong value proposition to the underserved SMB segment created a perfect fit for ORIX and we are excited to support the company's growth and international expansion.”
Kemp Technologies’ load balancer solution enables SMBs to cope with the network stress created due to the enormous growth of online transactions, as well as the increased use of smartphones and other network-linked devices.
The company introduced the first load balancer application to the industry when it launched the LoadMaster in 2003.
LoadMaster products from Kemp Technologies offer Layers 4-7 load balancing, content switching, server persistence, SSL offload/acceleration, and application front-end capabilities (caching, compression, intrusion prevention system), in addition to one full year product support.
By offering better Web infrastructure performance, scalability and secure operations, the company helps companies rapidly grow their businesses.
In a recent interview with TMCnet, Peter Melerud, vice president of product management at KEMP Technologies talked about the latest LoadMaster 6.0.
“The goal of LoadMaster 6.0 is to deliver reliable and high performing server load balancing and application delivery hardware or software-based virtual platform. LoadMaster 6.0 introduces pre-configured application templates that are designed to reduce the time and effort required to optimally deploy business-critical applications”
Melerud further said the LoadMaster 6.0 will deliver the next generation of capabilities for more efficient and cost-effective optimized datacenter performance. It will benefit everyone from the SMB to the large enterprise, especially those deploying Microsoft (News
- Alert) applications such as Exchange 2010, SharePoint or Lync, Melerud added.
