As students start going back to school this week, load balancer company Coyote Point Systems (News - Alert) is participating in the trend in its own way by announcing a partnership with Blackboard (News - Alert), an enterprise technology and solutions provider that aims to improve the experience of millions of students and learners around the world.
The signature partnership will allow Coyote Point to deliver its Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs) for Blackboard Learning Management Systems.
“Blackboard is a leader in the educational marketplace where we also have a significant customer base. Our Blackboard Signature Partnership allows us to provide enhanced solutions to increase the performance and availability of Blackboard platforms,” said Jim Puchbauer (News - Alert), director of Marketing and Alliances for Coyote Point Systems, in a statement. “The Blackboard relationship also gives us more avenues to communicate our solutions to those educational users who would benefit the most.”
Recently, Learning Management Systems (LMS) have rapidly been deployed in an effort to serve the constantly changing needs of both faculty and students. Specifically, the Blackboard Learn(TM) platform allows students to take tests, upload videos, check grades and perform a number of other tasks online. However, prior to turning to Coyote Point, Blackboard had to determine how to ensure availability and improve performance of these applications while reducing costs.
Fortunately for Blackboard, Coyote Point already has a lot of experience with providing application delivery solutions for educational institutions around the globe. As a Blackboard Signature Partner, the load balancer company will be able solve the application delivery challenges faced by administration and IT professionals and help educational institutions meet the continuing demand.
“Load balancing and server traffic management are crucial to the delivery of an enterprise application like Blackboard Learn. A solution that accelerates server performance and provides security for campus systems can only improve the education experience for teachers and learners,” said Ted Hopper, senior director of Business Development for Blackboard.
Coyote Point recently exhibited its award-winning Equalizer Series Application Delivery solutions at BbWorld, Blackboard's annual user conference held this year in Las Vegas, Nev., and Campus Technology in Boston, Mass.
In other company news, Coyote Point recently announced that its innovative Secure Socket Layer (SSL) acceleration solution won the prestigious Golden Bridge Awards.
Golden Bridge Awards recognizes the world's best products and programs from every major industry in the world. Coyote Point won the award for its innovative Xcel, a dedicated hardware-based SSL co-processor built into Coyote Point's Equalizer E450GX and E650GX Application Delivery Controllers.
