Dyn (News - Alert), a company that boasts load balancer, geographic traffic management and CDN control devices, has officially opened the doors to its London, England, office, located in the West London area of Berkeley Square.
The office marks Dyn’s second official office opening and its first outside of the United States. The company, an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) leader powering DNS and email delivery for enterprise, small business and personal users, believes the office will help expand their global reach in the IaaS market, as well as better serve their existing European clients, according to company officials.
"Over the years, Dyn has expanded in all areas including number of clients, total employees, services offered and number of datacenter locations," said Tom Daly (News - Alert), CTO at Dyn, in a statement. "Some Dyn followers don't realize that we have customers in over 200 countries and territories with 7.5 percent of our e-commerce clients from the UK, 2nd only to the US. It was an obvious choice for us to open a location in this great European hub, where we already have a datacenter."
Dyn’s UK-based client resume includes companies such as Bauer Media, Cloud Data, Crafty Clicks, Greenpeace UK, London Capital Group and Travel Republic.
"We are really excited to be working with Dyn. They have impressed us with their responsiveness and repeatedly demonstrated their technical expertise," said Liz Sarginson, Head of Web Operations at Guardian News & Media. "Moving our data centre load balancing onto their service has been an easy sell to our business because they offer a well-engineered platform and flexible solution at a competitive cost."
Technology veteran Phil Akilade has been enlisted to help lead the UK office and he will serve as the UK regional director. Akilade’s previous work experience includes stints at companies such as IBM, Compuware (News
- Alert), Computerwire and British Airways and is poised to introduce Dyn's Internet Infrastructure services to all of the EMEA market.
"I've seen for myself how a customer focus fosters a spirit of entrepreneurship for implementing new ideas that ultimately provide better services for Dyn's customers and creates an environment where our employees are encouraged to take risks on behalf of customers and enjoy what they do every day," Akilade said. "As we open the new UK Regional Office, I'm looking forward to building relationships with many of the UK and European customers that have been using Dyn's services over the last 10 years because they are the heritage of the company and our most important asset."
In related industry news, Coyote Point Systems (News - Alert), a provider of application delivery and load balancer products, has inked a partnership with Hurricane Electric, an IPv6-native Internet backbone and colocation provider, to provide IPv6 tunnel capabilities to Coyote Point's Equalizer Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs).
The partnership, which combines the best of breed Application Delivery functionality of Coyote Point's Equalizer product line with Hurricane Electric's (News - Alert) world-class Internet6 backbone, will provide users of Coyote Point's Equalizer ADCs with direct access to Hurricane Electric's IPv6 Service offering, company officials said.
